Technologies Used in Web Application Development
In the development of web pages and web applications we use the most commonly used technologies in this field: PHP & MySQL and ASP .NET. The choice of the technology used is based on the complexity of the application and the customer preferences.

PHP is a server-side web programming language, which means it runs on a server, allowing web developers to create dynamic websites and web-based software applications that interact with users and databases. In using this most common and most commonly used server language is the Apache Server. To store data in databases, we use MySQL, the most commonly used open source database server. It is characterized by flexibility, stability, reliability and speed in processing stored data. MySQL uses Structured Query Language (SQL), the most commonly used language for adding, accessing, and processing data in databases.

ASP.NET is a framework developed and marketed by Microsoft to enable web developers to build dynamic and interactive web pages, applications and web services. ASP.NET is built on the Common Runtime Language (CLR), which allows developers to write ASP.NET code using any .NET supported language. This technology is a powerful technology that allows developers to develop web applications that work with databases, often being used in complex and large-scale applications. Being a Microsoft technology is characterized by its rapidity as well as the speed at which web pages load in the browser. The latter is because it is a language in which the code is compiled into “machine language” before the user can access the web page.

Both technologies detailed above interact in web application development and the process of creating sites with other languages ​​such as: HTML, CSS, XML, JavaScript, Ajax, jQuery, Flash, ActionScript.

The name comes from HyperText Markup Language and defines it as a language for formatting and structuring web documents using a variety of labels and attributes.

Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) is a “style sheet” used to describe the appearance and formatting of a document written in a markup language. Its most common application is in web pages written in HTML and XHTML, but can be applied to any type of XML document.

This language was designed to replace HTML, which was considered too limited in elements and attributes. XML is increasingly used for data sharing and configuration. The most common form of XML in user interaction is the creation of RSS feeds for developed web applications.

JavaScript is a programming language created by Netscape, it serves to develop web applications and most of the time runs as a client-side application that runs in a web browser.
Web developers use JavaScript in websites and web applications to perform additional tasks that HTML can not do. For example, it can perform interactive menus or can detect user inputs. And because it is a client-side language, JavaScript functions and calculations run quickly because information does not have to navigate the Internet.

Although they have a similar JavaScript and Java programming language, they have very little in common.

Ajax and jQuery
